I am looking for an accountant to help manage my personal and company tax and other matters. I have been a self-employed organisation Development Consultant since 2000. My business was initially structured as a partnership with myself, my wife and a limited company being the partners. In order to simplify my business arrangements, I wound up the partnership in 2010 and then operated as a sole-trader. In January 2011, one of my clients, as a matter of policy, would not contract with me as a sole-trader and so I created my current company – Gordon Sinclair Organisation Development Limited. The nature of my business is that I am hired to give advice and facilitation for a range of organisation issues – typically, leadership coaching, senior team development, managing organisation change etc. I charge for my time by the hour – in the range £1200 to £1800 per day plus expenses and VAT. In the past year, turnover for that business has been around £50,000.
